Since I was a kid, I always loved playing hockey. Whether it be on the street, at the roller rink, ice rink or on a frozen pond it brought together friends of all ages and we made amazing memories. When the NY Rangers won the Stanley Cup in ’94, it made people open their eyes to the sport and brought more people closer to the sport of hockey. Fast forward years later, my son showed an interest in hockey, starting with roller hockey and unto ice hockey. He has made amazing memories already at the age of only 11 playing a game that he loves and being with friends who are more like family. I volunteered to become a coach to my sons team to be involved with learning the game as well as fostering a love of the game. I look forward to each practice to skate with the kids and assist them with becoming with learning the game. This sport is not just about scoring and winning it is about forming bonds both with the players and the parents and coaches that will last for many years. I would love to participate in the NY Rangers benefit game so that I can do my part in assisting the OBJK with being able to continue to provide an amazing program for our kids and to fulfill a dream of mine, playing with some of the NY Rangers alumni.
